With a customer list that reads like a "Who's Who in Industry Worldwide," Process Development
Corporation has produced cutaways as large as a jet engine and full-sized automobile, to cutaways small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.
What We Do
PDC takes on projects that are beyond the capabilities of most others. Because of the diversity and flexibility
of PDC's in-house operations, the company can perform even the most complex jobs without relying on outside contractors. For example, PDC has built an entire, 1/4 scale model jet engine, from a print, manufacturing every
component part in-house. One "Fortune 100" customer recently commented that PDC was the only company in the world capable of completing their job.
For an SAE Show in Detroit, PDC designed and built a fully operational, computerized suspension system which was integrated with a "big screen" monitor that depicted an actual roadway with changing terrain and direction. The display demonstrated how the suspension system reacted as the terrain and direction changed. In addition to the demonstration value of the display, it also attracted countless people to the customer's booth. This is an expression of our Automotion.
And, for one of the world's largest manufacturers of off-road equipment, PDC developed a fully-motorized, 9-speed transmission cutaway with full operating capability and audience participation controls… a real show-stopper!

PDC can build a cutaway to match your budget. We are able to provide three quality levels based on your budget. Essentially, we can scale a job to meet your pricing needs.
- "Flawless" Show Quality cutaway is the highest quality level of cutaway in the world.
- We can provide an "average" show level cutaway.
- Training Quality Cutaways are typically used when making many of the same cutaways. Visual aids are part of our products.
Because of the superior appearance/finish on every PDC cutaway or model, the people at PDC like to refer to their products as "industrial jewelry".
PDC's products offer:
- Deluxe, smooth, polished finish on all parts.
- Bright chromium or zinc plating.
- Superior quality painting, with effective use of color to demonstrate the relationship between component parts, or changes in the temperature of fluids, gases, or air as they move through the chambers of a cutaway.
- Prototypes and models expedite engineering development and trade show schedules.
- We provide custom designed durable shipping crates for safe transport to shows and destinations all over the world.
- Use of plastic parts when their presence can better demonstrate the interaction of components.

- Static displays - standard cutaways
- Active displays - cutaways which are electrically/electronically operated, computer driven, or hand actuated.
- Models - for prototyping and Research and Development
- Specially fabricated display stands, including your company logo or other promotional identification, special lighting, and clear plastic dust covers when appropriate. This is real metalcraft in artform.
PDC is proud of the heritage of the core group in our cutaway division. We have well over 100 years collective experience in the cutaway industry. These came to PDC via the acquisition of the Kimes Corporation, the oldest and largest cutaway shop in the US, dating back to the 1930s.
